Signs That You Need a Preconception Health Program

These days, many moms-to-be worry considerably about what they should and should not eat during pregnancy. Even the best pregnancy diet, though, won't give your child the best odds of being exceptionally healthy if your body is already unhealthy to begin with. While it's certainly important to put thought, care, and caution into what you eat throughout pregnancy, it's also important to get your body in the best possible condition before conception.

A preconception health program is important for many reasons, especially in today's modernized world. During the three months before conception, your body, whether you are a man or a woman, is already preparing the materials that will eventually become your child. You can give your future child the best possible chance in life by ensuring that these conception materials (ie. the ova and sperm) are as healthy as possible with a preconception program.

Besides this, a preconception program can boost your own level of health. For mothers-to-be, this is particularly important, as a healthier body before conception means that your growing baby will have the nutrition he needs during pregnancy. A healthy body before conception may also mean that you struggle much less with common pregnancy symptoms that can make this special time uncomfortable or downright painful.

Even if you think you're in relatively good health right now, you may still need a preconception health program, especially if you eat a typical Westernized, modern diet. Such a diet includes many things your body doesn't need, including refined grains and toxic chemicals in the form of additives and preservatives, and it also fails to include many of the foods your body needs in order to be in optimal health. If you've been eating a typical modern diet, you are probably already deficient in major nutrients that your body needs, including calcium, magnesium, B vitamins, vitamin A, and more. Starting off pregnancy deficient in these nutrients can be detrimental to your own health and to the health of your growing baby.

Signs of Poor Preconception Health

Even if you generally feel healthy, there are many signs of poor preconception health that you need to look out for. If you see some of these generally-accepted physical symptoms in yourself, you definitely need to use a preconception health plan to get your body into the best possible shape for conceiving and carrying a child.

According to the book Healing Our Children , which is in itself a full-out preconception and pregnancy health and diet plan, if you see any of these symptoms in yourself, it's time to start a preconception health plan: "allergies, constipation, skin blemishes or disorders, headaches, muscle or joint pain including back pain, irritability and anger, mood swings, unclear thinking, fatigue, hair loss, tooth decay, vision loss or poor vision, and lack of sexual energy."

These signs, which many people think are simply inevitable, are actually signs that your body is degenerating, and that you need to take special care of it to get back on the right track before conceiving a child. In fact, if your body is showing any of these symptoms, a preconception health plan can help you regain a healthy, vital, energetic body even if you are not planning to have children in the near future.

For a great preconception health plan, read Healing Our Children It's full of dietary information and more that can help you get into your best possible physical state, whether you are trying to conceive or not.
